CODA Chorus is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Giddings as its new music director! Giddings recently earned a Doctor of Musical Art, Choral Conducting from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona; and is currently the music program director at Kents Hill School in Readfield, Maine. He will assume his new role in September coordinating and directing virtual choral rehearsals while physical rehearsals are suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions.
CODA President Ruth Lund commented, “We are excited to have Christian join CODA. He brings a diverse set of skills, including working with a variety of different choruses and age groups. He’s a perfect fit for CODA.” She adds, “We are delighted that he’ll work with the chorus to maintain continuity during the many challenges the COVID pandemic presents to singing groups.”
CODA Chorus, now in its 53rd year, is an all-inclusive community chorus located in Winthrop with the goal of providing an opportunity for local singers of all backgrounds and abilities to join one another in song. The chorus usually presents two concerts in December and in the Spring. Plans for future concerts will be announced here and on Facebook once health restrictions are lifted.
