CODA Chorus, now in its 53rd year, is an all-inclusive community chorus located in Winthrop with the goal of providing an opportunity for local singers of all backgrounds and abilities to join one another in song. No prior experience or auditions necessary!

Our Spring 2020 Concert will be held April 25 at Hope Baptist Church.  Rehearsals begin Jan 21 at 7 PM!

We present a variety of musical styles including classical, folk songs, Broadway, Christmas carols, and good old standards. CODA has a Spring and Fall season each year, with the Fall concert(s) in early December and the Spring concert(s) in April/May. Come join the fun!

Joining CODA

If you’re thinking about joining CODA, here’s what you need to know!  There are no auditions; we welcome any community members, high school age and older, to join us. Previous choral experience or music-reading skills are helpful, but not required. In recent years our members have come from the greater Winthrop area including Augusta, Farmingdale, Fayette, Gardiner, Hallowell, Leeds, Lewiston, Litchfield, Manchester, Monmouth, Mount Vernon, Palermo, Pittston, Readfield, Sidney, Vienna, Wales, Wayne, and Winthrop.
Rehearsals are held Tuesdays, 7 to 9 PM, at the Winthrop United Methodist Church, beginning after Labor Day for our Christmas season and mid-January for our Spring season.    New members are welcome through the second or third rehearsal of each season; if you’re just curious, feel free to attend a rehearsal to see what you think!

Membership dues are $35.00 for each season (Sept-Dec and Jan-Apr/May). Dues may be waived in the case of financial need by submitting a written request to a Board member.  Membership is free for High School students.

Our Spring 2020 Concert will be held April 25 at Hope Baptist Church.  Rehearsals begin Jan 21 at 7 PM!

The CODA by-laws state, “Each member is expected to attend all rehearsals.”  Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but we ask for members to present as often as possible. Please see the President or Vice-President (http://codachorus.com/board-of-directors/) about absences.
